Solar power plant maintenance

Regular solar power plant maintenance is key to maximum efficiency and a long system lifespan - regardless of power, number of panels or initial investment.

Dust, pollen, bird droppings and bad weather can reduce electricity production by up to 35%. That is why we recommend cleaning solar panels every few months.

System check and solar power plant service

A solar power plant is much more than just the panels. Inverters, batteries, connections and mounting structures are equally important for the safe and efficient operation of the system.

Cleaning is also an ideal opportunity for a detailed inspection of all components. Storms or mechanical damage can compromise panel mounting brackets - which not only impairs the operation of the plant, but can be dangerous for the roof or surrounding area.

Our team of experts inspects all parts of the system, identifies potential problems and rectifies deficiencies - quickly and efficiently.

How to clean solar panels yourself? Step-by-step guide

  • Switch off the plant and wait at least 5 minutes for the voltage to discharge

  • Secure yourself on the roof - attach yourself and wear footwear with good grip

  • Rinse the panels with clean water to remove the surface layer of dust

  • Prepare a cleaning solution - ordinary washing-up liquid can work, but ideally use a product designed for solar panels; avoid aggressive chemicals

  • Apply the solution with a soft cloth or sponge - never use abrasive materials

  • With a soft-bristle brush gently remove stubborn dirt

  • Thoroughly rinse the panels with a gentle water jet - too strong a jet can damage the surface

  • Dry the panels with a dry, soft cloth - and an important warning: do not clean panels in sunny weather, as the high panel temperature can cause thermal shock to the surface
